An Evening To Remember!

GVMH Foundation Fundraiser Nov. 15

It will be an Evening to Remember, as the GVMH Foundation presents its black-tie optional fundraising dinner November 15, 2008.

General tickets for the Foundation’s “An Evening to Remember,” to be held at the Clinton Benson Center, go on sale Monday, October 6, 2008. Community members were invited to become host tables during August and September. 35 hosts/hostesses have elected to purchase a table for 8, and are now inviting guests to fill those tables. Seats at an additional 10 tables will be available beginning Oct. 6 at $125 each or a full table for $1,000. Community members are encouraged to get a group together now, and purchase tickets to this fun event!

A limited supply of tickets is available at Hawthorn Bank on Second Street, 1st Community Bank on Ohio Street, and Atchison Monuments on Ohio Street. Tickets may also be purchased from Karen Bullock, Foundation Director, at Golden Valley Hospital.

Tickets include gourmet chef cooking and dining stations, a martini slide, cash bar, beautiful decorations, a professional dance troupe, and dessert stations. Valet parking and a coat check are planned for all guests, and the evening will be topped off with a silent auction which includes a week’s stay at Disney World, dinner prepared at your own home for 8 by Chef Julie or Chef Darren, paintings, a Branson weekend, and more great “have to have” items.

“People are going to have fun,” said David Mills, Foundation Board President. “A community committee has been working on this black-tie optional event for several months. While providing funds to be used for community and hospital grants, it also gives our community an opportunity to attend a really fun and ‘glitzy’ event.”

Karen Bullock, Foundation Director, pointed out that the Foundation Board tries to meet healthcare grant requests. “However,” she commented, ”most Foundation donations are designated for particular projects, programs or areas by those making the donations. Proceeds from the “An Evening to Remember” fundraiser will not be designated and, therefore, available for community grants. One goal of the Foundation is to place an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in all schools in the hospital’s service area on a matching basis. These funds will be available for that purpose.”
