The Blue Inn in Appleton City had their annual car show on the second. A lot of people showed up from all around the area, both to watch and to take it all in.
As well as the usual fair- that is, cars. There was actually a lot of other things to do. Spaghetti Eating contests, a live band, food and even health checkups from Ellett Memorial hospital. To be sure, there were cars there as well, From T-Buckets to race cars, and a Smokey and the Bandit era Trans Am- Even a hearse.
One car was really well done. A replica of the Nova Raced by Jim 'Mr. Chevrolet' Harrell, this car fell neatly into the category of 'a work of art' painted in a style that's usually only done with patterned vinyl these days. It has a floral pattern that was created by placing a sheet of lace in front the car while painting. The Chevrolet symbol was actually created with 24 karat gold.
